This hike is cancelled. See the new hike for the 19th here

We will drive up to Baan Doi Pui and walk at a sedate pace to the ridge upon which a ‘Buddha’s foot print’ is located. We will walk out of Baan Doi Pui the touristy Hmong Village, through the floral garden maintained by the Hmong and above the little water reservoir where the kids like to swim. We will walk along a off road car track out of the village and then turn off onto a single trail footpath. We will walk along the foot path for 4km to the start of the ridge upon which the foot print is located. The views from the ridge are great and people who have not seen the Buddha’s foot print can try to locate the foot print. We will stop here for snack and then walk along a lower path back to the start of the ridge and then back to Baan Doi Pui. We will walk a total of 10 km, we will likely be walking for around 3-4 hours and have a 30 minute break for lunch. It will take us around 50 minutes to drive to the start of the hike and back. So we should be back to town at around 2 pm.

Leech Warning

There may be some leeches along the trail. It might be a good idea to take along some insect repellent with deet in it to spray on your shoes and / or to wear long trousers and long socks so that you can tuck your trousers into your socks.
