Thursday 10th March 2011, Hike Across Doi Langka Luang Mountain Range
Am planning a day hike across the Doi Langka mountain range next week. This will be a tough all day hike. You will need to be very fit and an experienced hiker to take part. It is 18km with many steep ascents and descents. Previously I have done this in two days carrying a large pack and sleeping over night (and that was hard work) but am hoping that carrying a smaller day pack and moving quickly we can get across the range in one day. We will have to watch the time closely and be ready to turn back if necessary.
We will need to meet at 5am at the arboretum and will get out to the start of the hike around the time of the sunrise. We will be hiking all day with few rests or breaks.

Finding the way to the trail head and up to the first unnamed peak
Up to the second peak Doi Pa Ngom / Doi Mae Tho
The second peak on the trail it seems has two names. The military map marks it as Doi Mae Tho but the sign on top says Doi Pa Ngom.
