We will meet in the car park at the far end of the arboretum before Chiang Mai Zoo on Huay Kaeow Rd this time at 7:30 am See map below.
We will take a Songthaew around past Queen Sirikit botanical gardens on the Samoeng Rd and then up from Pong Yaeng to above Baan Pha Nok Kok. It will take us a little more than an hour to arrive here.
From there we will head up to the ridge that runs parallel with the Samoeng Loop Rd. The ridge rises from a height of 1100 m up to around 1300 m with spectacular views to on both sides into the valleys on either side.
- Good footwear etc. hat, plenty of mozzie repellant as there seem to be a lot of mozzies in this part of the mountain and rain gear
- Bring water, food and snacks
- Bring enough money for the return trip by songtaow. The songthaew for the day will be around 1,200 – 1,400 B split between 4-8 people, it will be 150 – 350 B depending on how many people turn up.
Please do not reply, just turn up on the day – if the weather looks bad use your own judgement!
